ISLAMABAD – Top Chinese official has seeked more closer ties on counterterrorism and economic front between Pakistan China Russia Iran and Turkey.
All should take steps towards countering terrorism because one countryalone cannot be successful in doing the job, a Chinese official said hereon Saturday.
Beijing condemns terrorists attacks, Chen Zhu, vice chairman of theStanding Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, said at the 2ndSpeakers’ Conference with participation of Iran, China, Russia,Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey underway in Tehran.
Chen made the remarks while referring to Thursday suicide attack on policeheadquarters in Chabahar, southeastern Iran, and assault on China’sConsulate in Pakistan.
Unity is needed to fight terrorism, said Chen, stressing the importance ofcountering terrorism together.
He further urged the six countries in the Tehran conference to share therelated successful experiences and draw up common strategies for combatingterrorist networks.
More regulations should be made on counter-terrorism moves, Chen stressed.
Touching upon the economic cooperation between the six countries, theChinese official called for further economic relations in order to createnew opportunities for fostering multilateral and bilateral ties.
