Pakistan responds over the threat of the new Indian Rafale fighter jets

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has urged the world community not to push the SouthAsian region into arms race.

While addressing a news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign OfficeSpokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Pakistan knows how to defend itself nomatter it is Rafale or any other fighter jet. He said, “The whole world iswitness to the episode of February 27.”

Faisal maintained, “Pakistan will not indulge in any arms race. The focusof present government is on human development, health and education.”

Kashmir Issue

Voicing concerns over the indefinite curfew and blatant human rightsviolations in Occupied Kashmir, the spokesperson said Pakistan demandslifting of all sorts of restrictions and stoppage of human rightsviolations in the held valley.

He said Pakistan stands by the oppressed Kashmiri people. “We are trying toraise the plight of Kashmiri people at every forum.”

Dr Muhammad Faisal said despite Indian efforts to cover up its brutalitiesin occupied Kashmir, the plight of the Kashmiri people is being recognizedacross the world. He pointed out that three US Presidential candidates haveadded their voice in censuring India on the appalling humanitariansituation in the valley.
