ISLAMABAD – A report prepared by the National Database and RegistrationAuthority (NADRA) has made interesting revelations on Monday regarding theRTS system failure on the eve of July 25 elections.
The RTS system never failed on the night of July 25 elections.
The report has been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
It stated that the results were delayed due to difficulties faced by thestaffers in the use of software.
The report said that the pressure of unofficial and unconfirmed resultsbefore 2am on the night of the election was another reason of the problems.
It said that the RTS was working perfectly on July 25 and it received theresults from 6pm to 4pm on July 27. “The NADRA had prepared the RTS backupof international standard. Only presiding and assistant presiding officershad the power to feed the data,” it said.
The report further said that unavailability of 3G Internet was a hurdle indispatching the result form. It pointed out that several presiding andassistant presiding officers did not have knowledge of smart phones.
Moreover, RST had no relation to direct or indirect compilation of theresults of any constituency. “There was no similarity between the ResultTransmission System and Result Management System,” it concluded.
