ISLAMABAD – Pakistani star batsman Babar Azam makes history at T20 Blastwith his fastest century.
Star Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has scored his first hundred in the T20Vitality Blast to help Somerset beat Hampshire by 69 runs.
This was his second T20 career hundred which came in only 55 balls with alast-ball six. Babar scored seven fours and six sixes during the inning.
The masterclass batsman reached the half-century milestone in 33 ballswhich means that the next 50 runs came in just 22 balls.
With this blistering hundred, Azam is now the leading run-scorer of thetournament having scored 425 runs in eight innings. His closest rivalD’Arcy Short is 99 runs behind.
His performance is also special because this is his debut appearance in theT20 Vitality Blast and he has made a massive impact on the team.
The win has helped Somerset beat Hampshire to grab the fifth spot in thetournament and boosted their chances for knockouts.
