LAHORE: PML N Leader Pervaiz Rashid has clarified that Chaudhry Nisar willnot get the party ticket and only those who have applied will be grantedthe party ticket.
Earlier it was reported that Nawaz Sharif has also refused to grantChaudhry Nisar the party ticket. Nawaz Sharif and former chief ministerPunjab Shehbaz Sharif have strong disagreements over the issuance of aPakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) ticket to Chaudhry Nisar for theupcoming general elections, a local media outlet *reported*link>onSaturday.
According to the report, Nawaz Sharif does not wish to award a ticket toNisar and it has been recommended that he should not be given a ticket ifhe does not request for one.
The PML-N is expected to announce party candidates for the national andprovincial assembly constituencies for the upcoming general elections intwo separate phases, with the first announcement scheduled for June 10.
Close to 70 per cent of those given ticket were previous members of theassemblies. For the remaining 30 per cent, other candidates may be soughtbecause the previous candidates are facing cases.
In addition, Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif are expected to contest fromthree constituencies each whereas Maryam may contest from Karachi.
