Islamabad police female officers allege sexual harassment at police headquarters

ISLAMABAD – The female officers of Islamabad police have filed a complaintwith Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar and others over theinappropriate sexual behaviour of male personnel at Police LinesHeadquarters.

The applicants without mentioning their names on the application, which wasalso sent to Islamabad High Court chief justice, Interior Minister AhsanIqbal, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Inspector General of Islamabadpolice, alleged that they were harassed by male officials, including DSP,readers and operators.

In the complaint, the lady cops alleged that DSP and his subordinates haveprepared special lodging areas in headquarters where these officials askedthem to come.

They also claimed to have evidence – photos and videos – against theofficials who have been exploited the female officers, adding that therecord will also be presented before the chief justice.

The complainants have also urged the chief justice to take suo motu noticeof the situation, adding that black sheep in the police should be expelled.

Three Islamabad policemen have been suspended for allegedly harassing thefemale employees, while further investigation is underway.
