Hajj to become much more expensive in coming years due this announcement by Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noorul Haq Qadri Sunday said Saudi Arabia wanted all the countries to graduallytransfer Hajj arrangements to the private sector over the next three tofour years, which would make performing the religious obligation moreexpensive.

The countries would have to concede the Saudi demand for privatizing theHajj, the minister said talking to a private news channel.

He said Saudi Arabia had already increased the expenditures for Hajjpilgrims.

He said his ministry had presented a summary for Hajj subsidy in thecabinet, but there could be no consensus among the cabinet members becauseof the economic woes.
