Karachi blast: New developments reported in investigations

KARACHI – Investigations have revealed new developments in the Karachiblast on MQM gathering.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials on Sunday said that ImprovisedExplosive Device (IED) was used in yesterday’s blast at ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’event held near Gulistan-e-Johar in Karachi.

The BDS officials visited the bomb site and revealed that the a lowintensity improvise explosive device (IED) was exploded in the‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ event.

Around 250 to 300 grams of explosive material was used in the device.

Inspector General of Police Sindh Syed Kaleem Imam also visited the site ofthe blast.

Talking to media during his visit, Syed Kaleem Imam said that suchincidents aimed to disturb Karachi’s law and order situation.

He said that many people involved in Chinese Consulate attack have beenapprehended, adding that the people involved in yesterday’s attack willsoon be arrested.
