ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission will hear a case against PTI chief Imran Khan regarding the violation of ballot secrecy on Thursday (today).
The election regulatory body had issued a notice to the PTI chief for violating the secrecy of ballot after he cast his vote in the presence of his friends and supporters in Islamabad’s NA-53 constituency on July 25. Imran was seen publicly stamping the ballot paper on the table with TV cameras filming him instead of casting his vote in secrecy.
On July 30, the Election Commission sought a written reply from PTI chief Imran Khan’s lawyer, Babar Awan. The chief election commissioner headed the bench. The bench sought a written reply from the PTI chief’s lawyer, Babar Awan, and adjourned the hearing till August 16.
