LAHORE –Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, isexpected to contest elections from NA-127 instead of NA-125 as differentsurveys and intelligence reports have revealed that she had bleak chancesof winning from NA 125 against Dr Yasmeen Rashid.
According to the details, Maryam Nawaz is expected to contest electionsfrom NA-127 instead of NA-125 while Ayaz Sadiq is not willing to contestagainst pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s (PTI) Aleem Khan. Former NA speaker AyazSadiq wants to contest against PTI’s Dr Yasmeen Rashid from NA-125.
On the other hand, Pervaiz Malik wants to contest election from NA-128.Moreover, the PMLN has taken oath from its electable and party members.
The oath imposed the responsibility of maintaining party discipline on allthe members. None of the party members will be allowed to contest electionsas independent candidate in case they don’t get a ticket. The party saidthat all the candidates cannot get tickets.
Earlier, Maryam, on Wednesday acquired nomination papers for the saidconstituency to contest the July 25 general election. Pakistan MuslimLeague-Nawaz’s spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has however denied reportsof any party ticket having been allotted to her as yet.
“A decision on party tickets from Lahore has yet to be made, said theformer information minister, while former federal minister and PML-N LahorePresident Pervaiz Malik termed Maryam’s decision to contest polls a goodomen.
