ISLAMABAD – Severe earthquake has jolted parts of Pakistan includingIslamabad and Lahore. Panic has been created in the public once again.
Earlier in morning 5.5 earthquake has jolted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, withtremors felt in other parts of the country on Wednesday morning.
Initial reports suggest the earthquake magnitude has been recorded at 5.5on the Richter scale, with 12 kilometres in depth and its epicentre was20km North-West Bannu. The tremors were felt at 8:25 AM for 15 to 20seconds.
At least ten children were injured after a stampede occurred inthree-storey Government Model School near Tankhi Bazaar in Bannu. Theinjured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
The panic-stricken children rushed out of the three-story building withtaking to the stairs while few jumped out from second, third floor. Theinjured have been moved to District Headquarters Hospital.
Tremors were felt in Swat, Hangu, Malakand, Kot Momin, FederallyAdministered Tribal Areas (FATA), Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat and othercities.
Terrified people came out from their houses as the earthquake jolted KP.
