JODHPUR –Bishnoi community has announced to file a petition in Rajasthanhigh court, challenging Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s bail in poaching case.
The enraged community has vowed to bring Salman and the five othersacquitted in the case, including Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam andTabu to justice.
“It’s a very sad day for us as the court has granted bail barely two daysafter Salman was convicted and sentenced to five years for killing twoblackbucks,” said Ram Niwas Dhori of Bishnoi Tiger Force.
Ran Niwas Budhnagar of the Bishnoi Vanyajeev Evam Paryavaran Sansthan saidthat the organisation along with others would study the bail order, consultlegal experts and challenge it in the upper court. “We will not onlychallenge Salman’s bail by the sessions court but also appeal against theacquittal of the five co-accused, including four other film actors,” hesaid.
It is to be mentioned here that the actor was sentenced to five yearsprison on Thursday by an Indian court for killing endangered wildlifenearly two decades ago. Four other Bollywood stars — Saif Ali Khan, SonaliBendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari — were also accused of joining the huntingtrip but were acquitted for lack of evidence.
His defence lawyers had suggested the black bucks died of natural causessuch as overeating, and claimed there was no evidence they had been shot.
