Shaheen Shah Afridi makes history in PSL

DUBAI – Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Shah Afridi has made a new historic recordin the Pakistan Super League with his five wickets haul for four runs.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi of Lahore Qalandar claimed five wickets bygiving away only four runs in his 3.4 overs spell to restrict Multan Sultanfor 114 in their Pakistan Super League encounter in Dubai on Friday.

Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bat against Qalandars on abatting track. Kumar Sangakkara and Ahmad Shehzad gave Sultans a solidstart before Narine removed Sangakkara in the ninth over when Sultans were61 without loss and were well set for a big total. Sanga made 45 runs.

Ahmad Shehzad was the second man to go after scoring 32 runs and his wicketfell when Multan side reached 92 in the 13th over. Sohaib Maqsood becamethe victim of Narine after contributing 16 runs and his wicket fell at 97.

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s show started in the 16th over of Multan Sultan’sinnings. He grabbed wickets of Shoaib Malik, Whiteley, Saif Badar, JunaidKhan and Muhammad Irfan. No other Multan Sultan batsman reached the doublefigures.
