Pakistan opens new trade route with Afghanistan after 4 Years

PESHAWAR – The Ghulam Khan check post in North Waziristan Agency wasreopened on Friday for bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to political administration of North Waziristan Agency, severalvehicles loaded with trade goods proceeded to Afghanistan via Ghulam Khanborder check post on Friday.

The Ghulam Khan crossing point was closed for traffic when Pakistan armylaunched operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants in 2014.

The security forces and local administration have finalized allarrangements to provide security to the trade convoys.
