ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the members of hiseconomic team to take immediate steps for bringing down the prices of basicfood commodities within fifteen days.
Presiding over a meeting in Islamabad, he categorically asked that pricesof essential commodities should come down quickly.
The Prime Minster said strict check should be ensured on the prices ofwheat, wheat flour, sugar rice and pulses especially.
The meeting also reviewed demand and supply position of the basic fooditems.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance andRevenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Federal Minister for Economic AffairsHammad Azhar, Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation among others.
