Pakistani star Mehwish Hayat joins Hollywood campaign

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani star Mehwish Hayat expressed solidarity with herHollywood counterparts by wearing black as part of the war on sexualmisconduct and Time’s Up campaign.

Time’s Up campaign was initiated in 2018 after the #MeToo campaign in 2017.As part of the campaign, women on the red carpet at the 75th Golden GlobeAwards wore black and spoke out about sexual harassment and assault.

In the same vein, Mehwish Hayat wore black to express solidarity with thecause and posted her picture on Twitter and Instagram with the caption:“Today, I wear black in solidarity with my industry colleagues in US andpush this message to the women of my own homeland,Pakistan. We are no lessthan men by virtue of our gender. Harassment of any form is totallyunacceptable and we will not tolerate it #WhyIWearBlack #timeisup”
