ISLAMABAD – Adviser on Commerce Razak Dawood has said the second phase ofFree Trade Agreement (FTA) with China will become effective from the 1st ofnext month.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said the FTA wassigned with Beijing in April this year and it usually takes a year time tomake such an agreement operational.
However, due to special relationship with Pakistan, the Chinese side hasagreed to make the FTA operational before time.
The Adviser said that negotiations are continuing with the Chinese side toexport Pakistani agri products to their market.
Razak Dawood said that an international conference on textiles is beingheld in Lahore on Monday. About thirty five Chinese companies will beattending the conference.
He said the security situation stands improved in the country and we areready to give tax benefits to the investors to invest in Pakistan.
