ISLAMABAD – New progress has been made in the Accountability Courtregrading the Al Azizya reference against the Sharif family.
The accountability court will dispatch a letter to the Supreme CourtTuesday seeking an extension in the time period to complete the trialpertaining to Al-Azizia and Flagship references after the fifth deadlineexpired Sunday.
The apex court had given a six-week deadline which commenced on August 26and ended on October 7. Investigators have already recorded statements ofwitnesses while cross-examination of the investigation officer needs timeto complete.
