ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly rejected the claims made by IndianNational Security Advisor Ajit Doval over Occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan on Sunday while rejecting the Indian attempts to portray a totallyfalse impression of normalcy in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K)said the territory yet continued to be the largest prison in the world withthe heaviest deployment of Indian occupation forces.
In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson rejected the statementsmade by the Indian National Security Advisor in his recent briefing andsaid that despite Indian claims of normalcy, the curfew continued there.
“Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir continues to be the largest prison in theworld with the heaviest deployment of Indian occupation forces since thecoercive, unilateral and illegal Indian actions of 5 August 2019 aimed ataltering the internationally recognized disputed status of IOJ&K andchanging its demographic structure to preempt the results of a UNplebiscite,” the spokesperson said.
He said the Kashmiri leaders, especially Hurriyat leadership remained underhouse arrest or imprisoned. International media and credible human rightsorganizations continued to highlight the humanitarian nightmare includingarbitrary arrests of innocent Kashmiris, the kidnapping of hundreds ofyoung boys by Indian occupation forces to coerce their parents intosubmission.
The media had also been highlighting the communication blockade (suspensionof landlines, mobile phones and internet services) and restrictions onfreedom of media.
“Shops remain closed, Kashmiris are unable to offer Friday prayers inmosques and there are credible reports of a shortage of food items, including baby food and essential medicines,’ he remarked.
Contrary to Indian claims, he said the use of pellet guns continued in abrutal assault by Indian occupation forces against innocent Kashmiris.
