ISLAMABAD – Saudi Minister for Information Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al AwwadSaturday said that the Saudi government desired to work closely with thenew government in Pakistan, to start a fresh chapter in the bilateralrelations.
The Saudi Information Minister said this in a meeting with Minister forForeign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi here, said a Foreign Office statement.
Dr. Awwad Bin Saleh Al Awwad is currently on a good will visit to Pakistan,to convey the greetings and felicitations of Saudi leadership to the newPakistani leadership.
The foreign minister thanked the visiting dignitary and reciprocatedsentiments of the Saudi leadership.
He highlighted the importance attached by Pakistan to its relations withthe Kingdom and commitment of the Government of Pakistan to translate thelongstanding historic relations between the two countries into enhancedeconomic partnership.
The foreign minister emphasized the need to activate all existinginstitutional mechanisms between the two countries, to take the bilateralrelations to the next level.
He also assured Dr. Awwad of Pakistan’s continued support to the Kingdom inattaining its Vision 2030.
He invited Saudi investors to invest in Pakistan, which on completion ofCPEC, would become a market of above a billion people.
Saudi Minister for Information arrived in Islamabad on Friday, on a two-dayvisit.
He will also call on the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan andalso attend the oath taking ceremony of President Dr. Arif Alvi on Sunday.- APP
