ISLAMABAD – Saudi Information and Culture Minister Dr Awwad bin SalehAl-Awwad Friday said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were proud of theirlong-standing friendship and unity and Saudi Arabia had always supportedPakistan for its stability, prosperity and development.
Saudi Arabia will continue to promote these relations with the newgovernment, he expressed these views in an informal conversation after adinner hosted by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki athis residence.
The Saudi minister said media of both the countries were playing a key rolefor the promotion of bilateral relations and further development would beseen in the media sector in future.
In response to a question, he said that he was very pleased to visitPakistan and added he is grateful to the government of Pakistan as well astheir people for their warmth for Saudi Arabia. He said besides media,Saudi Arabia was keen to promote cooperation with Pakistan in the fields oftrade and economic development and the recent visit of Saudi trade ministerto Pakistan was a part of that series.
In response to another question, Saudi Minister of Information said thatall the media houses were playing their positive role in promotingbrotherhood between the two countries. And during his visit, morepossibilities will be reviewed to increase the cooperation in the mediasector and they believe that the Pakistani media would continue itspositive role in that regard.
He said that a series of political and economic reforms have been startedin Saudi Arabia, which would help in achieving the goals of vision2030.
Saudi Information Minister expressed his good wishes for the people ofPakistan and the government. – APP
