RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces eliminated at least 33 India-backed terrorists attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Zhob, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday.
According to the military’s media wing, the incident took place late last night when security forces detected a large group of khwarij militants linked to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al-Khwaraj — the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The movement was spotted in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan.
Troops swiftly engaged the infiltrators with precision and skill, foiling their entry into Pakistan. As a result, “33 Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR stated. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also seized, while a sanitisation operation is ongoing to ensure no remaining terrorists are present in the area.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, the ISPR stressed that the armed forces remain steadfast in defending the nation’s borders and eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism. The statement also noted that India has intensified its proxy warfare against Pakistan since its defeat in the May conflict — a campaign the army vowed would meet the same crushing outcome.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the operation, hailing it as a major victory in Pakistan’s fight against terrorism. “Our brave soldiers risked their lives to foil this infiltration attempt and crush the nefarious designs of the terrorists,” he said in a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
The premier reiterated the nation’s unity and full backing for the armed forces, declaring: “The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our security forces. We are determined to eliminate every trace of terrorism from our soil.”
