SRINAGAR – Second martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader,Burhan Muzaffar Wani will be observed on Sunday.
The Hurriyat leadership has also asked the people to observe completeshutdown and march towards Tral town, the native area of Burhan Wani, wherea public meeting will be held to pay tributes to him and other martyrs ofthe 2016 mass uprising triggered by his extrajudicial killing.
Burhan Wani was killed along with his two associates by the Indian troopsin a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on 8th July in2016.
The occupation authorities imposed curfew in Tral town, today, by deployingIndian troops and police personnel in strength to forestall the march.
The authorities have also put several Hurriyat leaders including Syed AliGilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and Muhammad YasinMalik under house detention or in custody to stop them from leading themarch.
Meanwhile, normal life was crippled, today, in response to the shutdowncalled by the Joint Resistance Leadership against the shifting of illegallydetained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi and her associatesfrom Srinagar Central Jail to New Delhi by India’s National InvestigationAgency.
