*LAHORE – A local court on Wednesday accepted a plea by singer MeeshaShafi showing distrust in the judge hearing a defamation suit filed byactor Ali Zafar, allowing the transfer of the case to another court.*
Resuming the hearing on the case here today, judge Muhammad Khalid Nawazapproved Meesha’s request, asking her lawyer to specify a judge that theytrusted. The judge issued orders to immediately transfer the case toanother court.
It is worth mentioning here that Meesha Shafi had accused her fellow singerand actor Ali Zafar of sexual harassment last year, leading to a key debateon the topic of sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement.
