LAHORE – New developments reported over Maryam Nawaz Sharif case in LahoreHigh Court.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday dissolved its two-member benchhearing pleas filed by PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz seeking the court to return herpassport and to order the government to take her name off the Exit ControlList (ECL) to travel abroad.
The court has formed a new bench comprising of Justice Ali Baqir Najfi andJustice Tariq Saleem Sheikh to initiate hearings of the plea from Feb. 10.
Earlier, a two-member bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi had heardMaryam’s petitions but there was no significant progress could be made.
Maryam has filed separate pleas for withdrawal of her name from the ECL andreturn of her passport, however, the NAB has already opposed those requests.
Justice Najafi had previously heard those pleas, but when the bench wasdissolved, the requests were transferred to another bench. Justice Najafiwill once again hear those pleas.
In November, Maryam was granted bail by the LHC in the Chaudhry Sugar Millscase against two surety bonds worth Rs10 million and submission of herpassport.
