Pakistan delegation attends OIC Youth Festival in Al Quds Al Sharif Palestine

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan delegation comprising Punjab Sports Minister, JahangirKhanzada, Media Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Abubakar Umar (Member OICYouth Summit) and Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan attended the Al-QudsAl-Sharif OIC Youth Capital Programme in Palestine.

President of Palestine Mehmoud Abbas welcomed the Pakistani delegates atAl-Quds Al-Sharif OIC Youth Capital 2018, said the information madeavailable here on Thursday by the Sports Board Punjab.

Addressing the OIC Youth Capital Opening Ceremony, Punjab Minister forSports Jahangir Khanzada said that Pakistan supports the establishment of aviable, independent and contiguous state of Palestine on the basis ofinternationally agreed upon parameters; the pre-1967 borders and withAl-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan said that Pakistan will continue toextend every kind of diplomatic and moral support to Palestinian people.

“The brave Palestinian people will get full-fledged independence in nearfuture and it’s their fundamental right to live in their own countryindependently,” he added.Media Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Abubakar Umar gave a detailedresolution on the Palestinian issue.

Addressing the council, Abubakar said that Shehbaz Sharif is one of thevery first Islamic leader in the world to raise his voice to address thegrave Palestinian issue.

It is matter of pride for Pakistan that Sports Minister Punjab, MediaAdvisor to Chief Minister Punjab and Secretary Sports Punjab were selectedas Youth Representatives to represent Pakistan on the holy land.

The opening ceremony of the Al-Quds Al-Sharif OIC Youth Capital 2018Programme was held at al-Moqataa Presidential Compound from Feb 6-8, 2018.It is for the first time that Palestine was selected as the OIC YouthCapital, given the severity of the Palestinian issue.

The Al-Quds Al-Sharif OIC Youth Capital 2018 Programme has kick started ayear of programmes that seek to raise international awareness of thePalestinian issue and development of Palestinian youth. – APP
