In a swift and courageous response, officials from the Bomb Disposal Squad(BDS) successfully defused an explosive device in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.The incident began when a vigilant passerby on Adiala Road discovered asuspicious bag, prompting immediate notification to local authorities.
Upon receiving the alert, Rawalpindi police quickly contacted the BombDisposal Squad to assess the situation. The BDS personnel promptly arrivedon the scene and conducted a thorough inspection, confirming the presenceof explosives within the suspicious device. They proceeded to safely defusethe device.
The Bomb Disposal Squad’s report indicated that the device containedapproximately 1200 grams of explosives, all of which were neutralizedduring the operation.
Notably, the device had been strategically placed at a distance of 100meters from Gate No. 5 of Adiala Jail, which is located near Dhaka SweetsGorakhpur and houses high-profile prisoners, including the Chairman ofPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
