International automobile company sets up plant in Pakistan with Rs 20 billion

ISLAMABAD – International automobile company sets up plant in Pakistan withRs 20 billion.

KIA has finished setting up its plant in Pakistan at a cost of Rs. 20billion and within a timeframe of 1.5 years, claims the Chief OperatingOfficer (COO) of KIA.

The plant is a joint collaboration between KIA and the Yunus Brothers Groupand has the capacity to produce 50,000 units. Recently, KIA has launched 18dealership agreements in 11 cities across the country.

The COO stressed that they were aiming to boost the standards of theautomotive sector in Pakistan.

He further underlined the importance of the sector with regards to theeconomy of Pakistan and how it is beneficial for the country.

So far, KIA has introduced three models in Pakistan including Sportage,Grand Carnival, and Picanto.

The Sportage is a compact SUV – the first locally assembled SUV with apanoramic sunroof. The Grand Carnival is an MPV and Picanto is a smallfamily hatchback.
