PM Khan, COAS Bajwa react over sudden death of legendary cricketer Abdul Qadir

ISLAMABAD – Former spin legend Abdul Qadir Khan died in Lahore tonightfollowing a massive heart attack.

He was born in Lahore in 1955 and represented the country in 67 testmatches and took 236 wickets. He scored 1029 runs in test matches and 641in one day matches.

Abdul Qadir served the game in different roles as a commentator and chiefselector in Pakistan Cricket Board.

He also groomed young talent by imparting them training at his academy inLahore.

President, PM express deep sorrow over demise of renowned cricketer

President Dr Arif Alvi has expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise ofrenowned cricketer Abdul Qadir.

In his condolence message, the president said Gogli’s inventor Abdul Qadirbrought name for Pakistan across the world.

Dr Arif Alvi prayed for the departed soul and said his name will always beremembered in the history of cricket.

Prime Minister Imran Khan says Abdul Qadir’s death has deprived Pakistan ofa great cricketer who brought fame for the country across the world.

In his condolence message, Imran Khan said he has lost a great friend. Heprayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereavedfamily.

Chief of the Army staff Qamar Javed Bajwa expresses heartfelt grief on thedemise of cricket legend Abdul Qadir.

According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Army, Major. General AsifGhafoor, the COAS said Pakistan has lost a great sportsman and a humanbeing.

The Army Chief prayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathies withthe bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
