PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and prime minister-inwaiting Imran Khan arrived in Peshawar without security and protocol.
He had returned the security protocol offered to him by the government.
Prime minister-elect returned the VVIP protocol and left for Peshawaraccompanied by only two cars. Imran Khan did not take any protocol evenafter reaching Peshawar.”
“He has instructed that there should be no protocol vehicles [accompanyinghim],” Fawad said, adding, that “the PM nominee has also asked not to stepup the route for him.”
Earlier on Monday, the PTI chairman had expressed his annoyance over theVVIP protocol given to him as he travelled from Bani Gala to a privatehotel in Islamabad.
It had been reported that Imran Khan said that “the practice of protocolsand the government stepping up the route for the prime minister should bestopped”.
He had also asked the Islamabad police to take back “their additionalprotocol vehicles” as he does not want to disturb the routine of the people.
