ISLAMABAD – Chairman Implementation Committee of Diamer Basha and MohmandDams and WAPDA retired Lieutenant General Muzammil Hussain briefed a fourmember Bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan JusticeMian Saqib Nisar in Islamabad on Tuesday.
He informed the bench about formulating seven sub-committees to identifyimpediments which may hinder the projects and the ways and means to removethose hurdles effectively.
WAPDA Chairman informed that in view of the procurement timelinesdetermined by the Implementation Committee, the construction work onMohmand Dam Project is expected to commence in early 2019, whereas an allout effort is also being made to start construction of Diamer Basha DamProject during 2019 as early as possible.
