LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz hasannounced that she alongwith Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan on Fridayto go to prison despite being sentenced to eight years in prison in theAvenfield properties case.

The former first daughter was speaking to reporters in London, a day afterthe accountability court verdict.
“It’s written in the verdict that Nawaz Sharif is not involved incorruption,” she said. “My father has been acquitted from money launderingcharges. I congratulate the workers of PMLN and the people of Pakistan thattheir leader Nawaz Sharif has received clean chit from the court confirmingthat he has never been involved in corruption, dishonesty, misuse of publicmoney throughout his career in politics,” said Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam said that her father also faced accountability during the Musharrafregime, but nothing was proven against him.
The former first daughter said that the Avenfied case verdict, given by anaccountability court, was solely based on assumptions.
