Federal government intensifies crackdown against banned outfits, hundreds of seminaries and activists seized

ISLAMABAD Ministry of Interior on Thursday announced that Law EnforcementAgencies (LEAs) in the country have taken 121 activists of ProscribedOrganizations (POs) in topreventive detention in its ongoing crackdown under NationalAction Plan (NAP).

A statement issued here said, in addition, the provincial authoritieshave also taken administrative controlof their 182 seminaries, 34 schools and colleges, five hospitals,163 dispensaries, 184 ambulances and eight offices.

The operation against banned outfits is a continuing processand part of NAP-2014, the statement said and added Ministry ofInterior is in well coordination with provincial governmentsas well as law enforcement institutions.
