ISLAMABAD – Legendry Chris Gayle has made yet another historic record onthe cricket books after scoring yet another century.
Gayle joined Hashim Amla and Sachin Tendulkar as only the third batsman inthe history of ODI cricket to score centuries against 11 differentcountries, as the Windies defeated the United Arab Emirates by 60 runs intheir opening Group A fixture of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018at the Old Hararians in Harare on Tuesday.
South Africa s Amla has scored his 26 centuries against Australia,Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand,Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Windies and Zimbabwe in a 164-ODI career, whileTendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries were against Australia, Bangladesh, England,Kenya, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the Windiesand Zimbabwe.
Australia s Ricky Ponting s 29 centuries were against 10 countries, whilehis 30th was against the Asia XI in January 2005.
