ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Railways has completed the feasibility study andpreliminary design for up-gradation of Main Line-I from Peshawar to Karachiunder China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
An official of the Ministry told APP that the up gradation project willincrease speed of trains.
Regarding availability of locomotives, he said in 2013 only 160 locomotiveswere functional but now with the concerted effort of the government 324locomotives out of 473 are operating.
