Supreme Court has sought a report on the contamination of Rawal Lake through regular dumping of solid waste in the reservoir.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar issued the directions while hearing a suo moto case related to encroachments and environmental degradation in Bani Gala.
The Chief Justice also asked the government to set up four water treatment plants at the Rawal Dam.
