ISLAMABAD – Petition seeking removal of National Accountability Bureau(NAB) chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has been declared admissible forhearing by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar.
The petition has been filed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz s (PML-N)leader Noor Awan on issue of money laundering allegations against NawazSharif. The plea was returned by Registrar Office after raising objections.
The petitioner pleaded that fake allegations of money laundering hadtarnished Nawaz Sharif’s image while stating that anti-graft watchdog can’tfunction unbiasedly under supervision of Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
Awan—in his petition—further went on to say that NAB’s press release [onmoney laundering issue] and the incidents which followed it displaynegative perception of NAB chief about Nawaz Sharif.
