Islamabad, April 5, IRNA — Pakistani political and religious groups havelaunched a campaign across the country and abroad to collect humanitarianaid to help Iranian flood-stricken people.
Secretary General of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Allama Raja NasirAbbas Jaffari has asked party’s foreign affairs department head ShafqatShirazi to direct the MWM office bearers in Australia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland,Kuwait, Switzerland and United Kingdom to launch campaign for Iran floodvictims.
The MWM has also informed the Iran embassy in Islamabad that a special bankaccount has been set up by the party to collect the donations from acrossPakistan to help the Iranian brothers and sisters suffering from massiveflood in the Islamic Republic.
Meanwhile, Jamat Ahle Haram Pakistan has also announced to collect aid forthe victims of the recent floods in Iran.
President of the party Mufti Gulzar Naeemi has said that they will collecthumanitarian aid all over the country to help the Iranian brothers hit bythe floods.
Pakistani groups say as due to unilateral sanctions by an arrogant powerand political pressures Iran is facing some problems to get the aid forflood victims that is why the initiative to collect the money has beenlaunched across Pakistan to help the Iranian sisters and brothers affectedby the recent floods.
Earlier Pakistan had extended deepest condolences and sympathies on theloss of human lives caused by heavy rains and flash floods in severalprovinces of Iran.
Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over thepast two weeks. Scores of people were killed and 478 others were injuredand a large number were displaced across Iran.
The disaster coincided with the high season of Iranians’ trips as they werespending the national two-week holidays of Nowruz.
