SRINAGAR – The recent killings in Indian Held Kashmirlink> (IHK) shocked the entire Valleyof Azad Jammu and Kashmir link> andPakistan.
Following the killings of more than 20 innocent people in South Kashmir’sShopian and Islamabad districts on Sunday in IHK the entire nation fromKarachi to Muzaffarabad condemned the carnage. The funeral prayers of themartyred Kashmiris were attended by tens of thousands people in IHK.
It was the first time when mourners could not find space in the grounds andthey climbed trees to attend the last rites of martyred people.
It happened first time in the history of Kashmirlink> that women and men offeredfuneral prayers together which was enough to show the pain of Kashmiris tothe world.
‘Condemnation day’ was observed across AJK and Pakistan where people tookto the streets to pay homage to the martyred people and condemned theIndian forces brutal action against the civilians. Anti-India protestrallies were also taken out to seek the world attention towards the risinghuman rights abuses in IHK.
Since March 01 to April 4, around 50 people were martyred, 16 were killedin custody while 198 were tortured, 117 civilians were arrested, 35structures were gutted, five women were widowed, and six children wereorphaned.
On April 4, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi reachedMuzaffarabad , the capital city of Azad Jammu andKashmirlink> (AJK) to address the jointsession of Kashmir link> Council (KC)and Legislative Assembly to express solidarity with the people of IHK.
Prime Minister Abbasi said that United Nations should immediately appoint aspecial envoy to settle the Jammu andKashmirlink> dispute.
He said federal cabinet in Islamabad condemned the killings of IHK on April2 to remind the world of their role to settle theKashmirlink> issue.
Premier Abbasi further said that global human rights organisations andUnited Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and Organisation of IslamicCooperation (OIC) human rights wing must be allowed to visit IHK. PremierAbbasi further said that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiribrothers and sisters politically, diplomatically and morally to achievetheir right of self-determination.
“ We condemn the recent killings in IHK and India must keep in mind thatthe suppression and oppression will never defeat Kashmiris,” PM Abbasiadded.
Prime Minister Abbasi further said that special delegations would be sentabroad to raise theKashmir link> issueand brief the world about the rising human rights violations in IHK. Hethanked the brotherly Muslim countries Turkey and Iran for showing theirconcern on the rising human rights violations in IHK.
Prime Minister also met the delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference(APHC) and assured them full support form the government and people ofPakistan. The visit of premier Abbasi along with cabinet members to AzadKashmir link> will send a good messageto Indian Occupied Kashmir link> .
