LAHORE – The Lahore High Court Friday reserved its verdict in a casepertaining to the validity of 29,000 votes in NA-120 by-election, reportedWaqt News.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had declared the alleged 29,000 bogusvotes in the electoral rolls of NA-120 as genuine while maintaining thatthey will not be omitted from the voters list.
The decision was challenged by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) whosecandidate, Dr Yasmin Rashid link> ,lost the by-election to Kalsoom Nawaz.
Dr Yasmin also said the ECP had become a sub-wing of the PML-N as severalpetitions filed by the PTI before it remained unfruitful. She said the PTIwould not let anyone rob the votes of people. Fair and free election wascritical for a prosperous Pakistan, she added.
