DOHA – US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation AmbassadorZalmay Khalilzad says peace would require the support of all interestedparties and they welcomed the participation of regional countries in theprocess.
Khalilzad who is in Doha for peace meeting with Taliban wrote on hisTwitter that he and his team continue peace talks.
Speaking for Taliban’s Qatar-based political office, Suhail Shaheen said inan interview that neither a ceasefire nor intra-Afghan dialogue was on theagenda at this stage.
He told VOA that there has been steady progress. But the talks are notcompleted yet. The talks will continue until we reach a conclusion.”
