Pakistan unveils inauguration date for 9 billion mega project with China

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan unveils inauguration date for $9 billion mega Railwaysproject with China.

Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar said on Tuesday that significantprogress has been made on the ML-1 project, adding that the groundbreakingof the project would be performed in the next six months.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he said that Pakistan and Chinahave agreed to take forward cooperation in various sectors under the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor.

“The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) today remained very productive andmany decisions were taken to increase industrial cooperation between boththe countries,” he stated.

Bakhtiar said in-depth discussions were also held to enhance the steelproduction capacity of Pakistan.

The minister said 300MW power plant has been inaugurated in Gwadar, addingthat the development of the port city was among the foremost priorities ofthe government.
