Startling revelations surface in government servants dual nationalities case in SC

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General BashirMemon on Thursday informed the Supreme Court (SC) that 152 governmentofficials had concealed their dual nationality.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan(CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was conducting hearing of the suo motu case on dualnationalities of government officials.

During the proceedings, a committee formed by the top court submitted areport.

The FIA DG told that court that there were more than 600,000 officials ofgrade 17 and above in the country, however, the data of only 1,82,000officials was received while data of others was still being received.

Memon told the court that the data 36,000 officials was yet to be uploaded,adding that around 655 officials have voluntarily accepted their dualnationality.

While giving his remarks, the CJP asked to give names of those officialswho have not provided their data, adding that the court will summon thehead of their departments and will see what they would reply.
