Army Chief arrives in Awaran today

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa isscheduled to visit Awaran, Balochistan today (Monday).

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), theCOAS spent his night in Turbat where he met tribal elders.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bazinjo, Commander Southern CommandLieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa and Frontier Corps Balochistan (South)Inspector General Major General Tariq Aman were also present in the meeting.

Earlier, speaking at the concluding ceremony of three day Makran Festivalin Turbat, the COAS said presence of such a large gathering at thisfestival is testimony of the fact that Balochistan is moving towards peaceand prosperity which is future of Pakistan’s progress as well.

The Army Chief said provision of civic facilities and peaceful environmentin less developed areas of Balochistan is a dream coming true. He saidKhushal Balochistan program is aimed at fulfilment of this right.

At the end of the ceremony fireworks were also held which added colour tothe festive mood of the spectators.
