ISLAMABAD – In a telephone conversation on Monday night, Zarif and Qureshiexchanged views about the latest developments in the Muslim world,including the US-Israeli plot against the Palestinians.
The two top diplomats rejected “the deal of the century” and stressed theneed to boost unity among Muslims to support the Palestinian nation.
Last Tuesday, US President Donald Trump unveiled his long-delayed MiddleEast plan, a proposal Palestinian leaders called a “conspiracy” that “willnot pass”.
Following Trump’s announcement, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said “athousand no’s” to the plan.
The American plan has sparked widespread international condemnation.
The deal of century ploy, fronted by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, hadalready been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House’spolicies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.
Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration sincethe US president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognizeJerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
