KABUL – The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday said the new security planfor Kabul city has been finalized and a copy of it has been sent toPresident Ashraf Ghani, TOLONEWS has reported.

“A comprehensive plan has been prepared for improving Kabul security andthe outline has been shared with the president,” said Rahimi.
Meanwhile, sources told TOLOnews that among the issues, the plan dealswith vulnerabilities in Kabul city that security departments have foundfollowing the string ofrecent attacks.
“Security forces have used their experience (in outlining this plan) tofind ways to prevent incidents that they think might take place in thefuture,” the head of parliament’s internal security commission MirdadNijrabi said.
Meanwhile, some MPs said the new plan will be successful if it’simplemented fully and if security forces are better equipped.
They said more reforms should be brought to the security institutions.
“We should have scanners at all doors of Kabul city and also reforms shouldbe made in all PDs and security departments,” MP Sayed Ikram Afzali said.
The new plan has been drafted in the wake of a string of attacks in Kabulcity this month which claimed the lives of close to 150 people.
Following the attacks, Afghan security forces along with foreign troopslaunched anti-insurgent operations in parts of the country. The outlining of a new Kabul security plan is also part of these efforts.
