LAHORE: Lahore High Court has set few conditions over the Maryam NawazSharif bail
The Lahore High Court on Monday granted bail to PML-N leader Maryam Nawazin the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case.
The court instructed Maryam to submit two surety bonds of Rs10 millioneach. She has also been instructed to surrender her passport and deposit anadditional amount of Rs70 million.
“We allow this petition and admit the petitioner to post-arrest bailsubject to furnishing of surety bonds in the sum of Rs.10 Million with twosureties each in the like amount to the satisfaction of the learned trialcourt and to establish her bonafide would also deposit amount of Rs.7 crorewith the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of this court besides submitting herpassport(s) with him,” said the verdict.
Following the verdict, a two-member bench presided by Justice Ali BaqarNajafi ordered the PML-N vice president’s release.
Maryam had approached the high court on September 30 seeking post-arrestbail.
After her father, Nawaz Sharif’s health deteriorated, she submitted apetition on October 24 seeking immediate bail on the basis of humanitarianreasons and fundamental rights.
The court had reserved the verdict on October 31.
