LONDON – Jemima Goldsmith, former wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan has hitout at PM Imran Khan and PTI government over the issue of TLP protests.
She has criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for cavingin to the demands of far-right religious party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan(TLP) and signing a deal with them in light of their protests after theAasia Bibi acquittal verdict.
She tweeted: “Not the Naya Pakistan we’d hoped for. 3 days after a defiant& brave speech defending the judiciary, Pakistan’s gov caves in toextremist demands to bar #*AsiaBibi*link from leaving Pak, after shewas acquitted of blasphemy- effectively signing her death warrant.”
