Huge funds released under PSDP by federal government

ISLAMABAD – Out of the total of Rs154.9 billion allocated for NationalHighway Authority (NHA) road infrastructure projects under Public SectorDevelopment Programme (PSDP), the government of Pakistan has releasedRs13.6 billion till September 27.

An official source on Monday informed APP that for construction of Hakla-DI Khan Motorway, out of the total allocation of Rs11.5 billion, so farRs4.95 billion have been released.

He said that for four-lane bridge across Indus River linking Layyah withTaunsa, including 2-lane approach road and river training works having 24km length, a total of Rs1 billion have been allocated out of which Rs200million have been released.

The source also said that for construction of 18.3 km six-lane highway fromKala Shah Kaku to Lahore Ring Road including over Ravi River (LahoreEastern Bypass) a total of Rs1.09 billion have been earmarked, out of whichRs218 million have been released so far. He said that out of Rs 1.5 billionset aside for land acquisition, affected properties compensation andrelocation of utilities for construction of Burhan/Hakla to D.I. KhanMotorway, Rs200 million have been issued so far.
