ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Wednesdayapproved two projects worth Rs3.9 billion.
The CDWP met with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad JehanzebKhan in the chair and reviewed proposals related to health and energyprojects.
The first project titled “Detailed Exploration of Uranium Resources in DeraGhazi Khan, Phase I-X” aims to facilitate the supply of indigenous fuel forenergy projects in the area.
The Rs922-million project would also result in the socio-economic uplift ofthe backward tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan.
The second approved project was related to the establishment of a250-bedded hospital in Skardu, Gilgit Baltistan, at a cost of Rs2.99billion.
The hospital would cater to 0.6 million people of the Baltistan Division(four districts). Currently, only one 190-bedded facility is available inthe entire division.
